Chris Weintrob

I am a married mother of two with a passion for healthy eating and living. My family and I live right outside of Washington, DC in Bethesda, MD. Although I am physically located right next to the nation’s capital, my heart belongs to the mountains of Wyoming, where we spend as much time as our lives will allow. I love hiking, skiing, running and any activity in which I am surrounded by mountains. I am an avid exerciser whose sanity depends on daily physical activity. I also love cooking and sharing my passion for healthy eating and living with my family.

I was not always so health conscious. Like many people, I grew up eating twinkies, ho-hos, fruit loops, potato chips, Tab, and many other industrial food-like products. It wasn’t until I had children that I really started to focus in on the food we were eating. I did not have a food epiphany nor a personal health crisis that altered my way of eating and how I think about food. It was more of a gradual learning process that sparked an ardent appreciation for the fact that daily diet, and exercise, makes a huge difference in one’s quality of life. By paying more attention to our food choices, I slowly began to understand the powerful impact that diet and nutrition have on our likelihood of living long, healthy lives. I decided to take my personal interest in nutrition one step further by enrolling in a professional training program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

My Training

I received my training as a Nutrition Counselor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program. I am certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers at IIN included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Mark Hyman, Chairman of the Institute for Functional Medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; David Wolfe, raw-foods guru; John Douillard, Director of the LifeSpa-Ayurvedic Retreat Center in Boulder, CO; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Marion Nestle, Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at NYU; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

I also completed the Detoxification Series of continuing education classes at Tulsi Holistic Health Center. During this series, we explored the systems in our bodies that facilitate the detoxification process, as well as looked at the sources of toxicity in our environment.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. My focus is on empowering you to reach your health goals.
