My Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, reducing stress, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

Nutrition Counseling

Have you ever received good advice that you were unable to follow? Has your doctor ever recommended a lifestyle change that you found to be unsustainable? Have you ever wanted something in your life, but found you couldn’t achieve it alone?

As a Nutrition Counselor, I am a knowledgeable advisor who will provide you with ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and lifestyle. I will listen carefully and help you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what changes are necessary for you. Together, we will explore concerns specific to you and your body and discover the tools you need for a lifetime of balance.

As a client of my nutrition counseling program, you will…

Nuts and Bolts

To decide if nutrition counseling is right for you, I invite you to schedule an Initial Strategy Session with me. During this session, we will discuss the challenges you are experiencing, your vision of  a healthy future, and what might be preventing you from achieving your goals. The initial strategy session will also give us an opportunity to see if we would work well together.




My nutrition counseling practice includes three different coaching options:

  1. 3-Month Intensive
  2. 6-Week Jumpstart
  3. VIP Strategy Session

 

The 3-Month Intensive Program consists of:

  • two 50-minute sessions per month for a total of 6 sessions
  • e-mail support between sessions
  • recipes that are healthy and simple to prepare
  • coaching and support to help you make the dietary and lifestyle changes you want
  • simple but informative handouts that will increase your nutrition knowledge
  • my personal commitment to your health and success.



 

The 6-Week Jumpstart Program consists of:

  • one 50-minute session every other week for a total of 3 sessions
  • e-mail support between sessions
  • recipes that are healthy and simple to prepare
  • coaching and support to help you make the dietary and lifestyle changes you want
  • simple but informative handouts that will increase your nutrition knowledge
  • my personal commitment to your health and success.



 

The VIP Strategy Session is a single 90-minute power coaching session in which we will discuss concerns regarding your health, identify inconsistencies in your diet and lifestyle, and define an action plan based on your specific goals. The VIP Strategy Session will include:

  • a review of your current diet and lifestyle habits
  • an action plan based on your specific health goals
  • 3-5 take aways that you can implement immediately
  • handouts and recipes that fit your lifestyle
  • one follow up email for questions and support.



 

I am available to meet in person and/or over the phone, depending on your geographic location and situation. If none of these program choices seems to fit your needs, I am happy to discuss other options that will work for you.

Cooking Lessons

Would you like to eat healthier, but just don’t feel confident in the kitchen? Consider taking one-on-one cooking lessons with me. Together we come up with a menu, you shop for the ingredients, and then we cook up a storm – in either your kitchen or mine. Call or email me to schedule your first private cooking lesson. With my support, you’ll be cranking out healthy meals for you and your family in no time.

 

Workshops

I lead workshops on nutrition for adults and school-aged children. Some of my past workshops include: Sugar Blues, Weigh Less Live More, and Making Healthy Food Choices (a workshop for teens). Please contact me if you are interested in having me lead a nutrition workshop.
